PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to live blameless and upright
in Your sight.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leader should ask members for any sin they know
parent commit on behalf of their children.
MEMORY VERSE: “If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.” – Titus 1:6
BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Timothy 3:2-13. Titus 1:4-9. Acts 21:7-10 (KJV)
1 Timothy 3:2-13;
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not
greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house,
having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his
own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he
fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of
them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave,
not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a
pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved;
then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 Even so must their wives be grave,
not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 Let the deacons be the husbands of
one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 For they that have used the office of
a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the
faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Titus 1:4-9;
4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
5 For this cause left I thee in Crete,
that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders
in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6 If any be blameless, the husband of
one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the
steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker,
not given to filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of
good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he
hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to
convince the gainsayers.
25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and
I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it
near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine, and he drank.
Acts 21:7-10;
7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
8 And the next day we that were of Paul’s company
departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the
evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.
9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which
did prophesy.
10 And as we tarried there many days, there came down
from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.

SUMMARY:
God’s standard is sealed. He would not reduce His standard for any man irrespective of your position.
CONCLUSION:
God has high moral and spiritual standards for anyone that would genuinely lead His people because they are very precious to Him, 1 Peter 2:9.
He needs you to direct His flock aright as He doesn’t want them to be scattered without a shepherd. Why don’t you purge yourself of every filthiness and draw closer to Him now 2 Timothy 2:21; James 4:8 and very soon it will be your turn to be used by God. Acts 13:2
