[13]And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
[14]Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
[15]See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
[16]Rejoice evermore.
MEMORY VERSE: Romans 12:10

LESSON AIM: To teach the teens to appreciate others
CENTRAL TRUTH: A thank heart appreciates people
INTRODUCTION
Appreciation is recognition of the good qualities of someone or something, admiring certain things about someone and you let the person know. It is a form of valuing and making them feel welcome. When we appreciate, it is a form of worship and adoration to God.

A. How can we develop the character of appreciation. From our text:
1. Hold our people in the highest honour, i.e think highly of others
2. Love people wholeheartedly
3. Live in peace with each other
4. Encourage the disheartened
5. Help the weak
6. Be patient with everyone
7. Do not pay back wrong for wrong
8. Strive to do what is good to each other and for everyone
9. Finally, rejoice always
The opposite of appreciation is disrespect which stems from a proud and unthankful heart. Pride will not allow you to appreciate others because Al you will be thinking about is yourself, what you have done or what you can do.

B. DISCUSSION: Let us discuss these questions
1. Are you a person that naturally let's people know that they are worthy? If so, what happens when others are not appreciative of you?
2. What part does appreciation play in your relationship with church members, friends co-workers and family? Have you thanked people you know or with whom you work with buy your words as well as your personal example?
3. What happens to your relationship with God, with others, and with the opportunities God gives you when you neglect to be thankful and appreciative?

*CONCLUSION*: The act of appreciating people around us
is not something that we are born with. We learn it. Some people learn it very
early in life by virtue of the family they are born into. Maybe your parents
are such that really appreciate people and as a child you just grow into it.
Some discover along the line that they need to learn it.
