Topic: Befriend The
Spirit (Open Heavens 21
January 2021)
Memorise: “When Paul
placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in
tongues and prophesied.” – Acts 19:6
Read: John 16:7-13
7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going
away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will
send him to you.
8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and
righteousness and judgment:
9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me;
10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can
see me no longer;
11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands
condemned.
Bible In One Year: Genesis 49-50; Matthew
15:1-20
MESSAGE:
After I gave my life to Christ, I observed that whenever there was an altar
call, the preacher would say ‘All those who want to be saved should come
forward while those who want sanctification or baptism in the Holy Spirit
should ask God in prayer” So I become curious. I wanted to know what the
baptism of the Holy Spirit was about. This curiosity grew so much that I began
to acquire books on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. By the time I eventually experienced
the baptism, I had become so close to the Holy Spirit and since then, I enjoy a
sweet relationship with Him.
Why do you need to befriend the Holy Spirit?
We are in the regime of the Holy Spirit. If you must prosper in this period,
you need to be close to Him. The Bible calls Him our Helper; truly, no one can
live holy in this sinful world without the help of the Holy Spirit. So, if you
do not have a good relationship with the Holy Spirit. you will struggle in your
walk with God. Ask for His baptism today.
Action Point:
Ask the Holy Spirit to baptism you afresh today.
Hymn 6: Breathe On Me, Breath Of God
1. Breathe on me, Breath
of God;
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.
2. Breathe on me, Breath
of God:
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.
3. Breathe on me, Breath
of God
Till I am wholly Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.
4. Breathe on me, Breath
of God;
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.
