MEMORISE: When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7

READ: 1 Kings 3:3-14 (KJV)

3 And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.

4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

6 And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

7 And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Open Heaven For Today 2025 – Open Heavens 1 March

12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 26-27

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Anytime you please God, He will do something really amazing for you. In 2 Chronicles 1:6-15, Solomon pleased God. He wasn’t pleasing men or trying to get their approval; he wanted to please the God of wonders.

Today, people are still talking about Solomon because of the great things that God did in his life. God prospered him physically – throughout his life, there was no war because God silenced all his enemies (1 Kings 5:4). God also prospered him mentally and materially – his wisdom and riches were so great that God said that no other king will ever be like him. If you read 1 Kings 3:15-28, you will see an example of how God blessed Solomon.

When you please God in your sowing, He will give you multiple wonders so that long after you are gone, your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will still be reaping from the harvest. I pray that God will open the eyes of your understanding to know that harvest is a wonder; all you need to do is sow in such a manner that pleases God and leave the rest to Him. Very soon, the world will come to you and ask why you are so successful.

When a person’s ways please the Lord, He summons forces on earth, in heaven, and underneath the earth to come to that fellow’s aid. As we read in today’s memory verse, even those who do not like the fellow will have no choice but to bless him or her.

When Isaac asked Esau to prepare him venison so that he could eat and bless him before his death, Jacob brought a delicious meal to him, and Isaac began to rain blessings on him because he enjoyed the food so much. Isaac was so pleased that he blessed Jacob with the dew of heaven, the fatness of the earth, plenty of corn and wine, and the gifts of men (Genesis 27:28-29). If an earthly father can bless his son who pleased him with such blessings, how much more our heavenly Father who owns all silver, gold, and the cattle upon a thousand hills (Haggai 2:8, Psalm 50:10)?

When your ways please God, and He blesses you, nobody can hinder your blessings. No human being, demon, witch, or wizard can oppose you when you please God. Abraham was too blessed to be cursed or hindered by any evil power. Beloved, please God in all your ways, and His blessing will rest upon you and your household, in Jesus’ name.

Action Point

Use the word of God as a standard to check if your ways are pleasing Him.

HYMN 30: When We Walk With The Lord

1. When we walk with the Lord,

In the light of His word,

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will

He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey!

For there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.

2. But we never can prove

The delights of His love,

Until all on the altar we lay,

For the favour He shows

And the joy He bestows

Are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

3. Then in fellowship sweet

We will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,

What He says we will do,

Where He sends we will go,

Never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]

MEMORISE: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

READ: Mark 4:26-29 (KJV)

26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 23-25

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

The first thing to understand about harvests is that they ultimately come from God. 1 Corinthians 3:6 says,

“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.”

Also, harvests come in different levels, which Jesus identified as thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and hundredfold (Mark 4:20).

Some Bible scholars believe that a thirtyfold harvest results from giving to the household of faith (Galatians 6:9-10).

When you help a fellow Christian, you are sowing into a soil that will bring forth at least thirtyfold.

When Dorcas was sowing into the lives of the people in her church, she didn’t know that she would reap a harvest of resurrection.

Her seeds were so precious that they sent for Peter to raise her from the dead (Acts 9:36-42).

There are Bible scholars who also believe that you will reap a sixtyfold harvest when you sow to a minister of God (Matthew 10:41).

When you do something for your pastor, and he or she says,

“God bless you,”

your seed will return at least a sixtyfold harvest, just as we see in 1 Kings 17:10-16.

The widow of Zarephath and her son had given up on life before she honoured Elijah with their last meal.

She experienced a massive turnaround, and throughout the grievous famine, her jar of flour never ran out, and her jug of oil never became empty (1 Kings 17:16).

Furthermore, apart from material blessings, when her son died, God brought him back to life (1 Kings 17:17-24).

Some Bible scholars also believe that giving to the high priest will yield a hundredfold harvest.

Hebrews 5:1-4 tells us that the high priest is someone God has chosen to represent men before Him.

The highest spiritual authority God has ordained over you is a representative of Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16), and if you give to such a fellow, you can rest assured that God will bless you a hundredfold and more in return.

Where and how you sow your seeds play a significant role in determining the level of harvests you can get from God.

You should, however, ensure your sowing is done out of love to honour God and not just because you want a harvest from Him.

God wants you to give cheerfully and sacrificially (2 Corinthians 9:7Mark 12:41-44), and He judges the intent of your heart (1 Samuel 16:7).

I pray that you will experience bountiful blessings as you honour Him with your giving, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point

Father, I receive a bountiful harvest of every good seed I have sown, in Jesus’ name

HYMN 26: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

1 There shall be showers of blessing:

This is the promise of love;

There shall be seasons refreshing,

Sent from the Saviour above.

Refrain:

Showers of blessing,

Showers of blessing we need;

Mercy drops round us are falling,

But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,

Precious reviving again;

Over the hills and the valleys,

Sound of abundance of rain.

3 There shall be showers of blessing:

Send them upon us, O Lord!

Grant to us now a refreshing;

Come, and now honour Thy Word.

4 There shall be showers of blessing,

Oh, that to-day they might fall,

Now, as to God, we’re confessing.

Now as on Jesus we call!

MEMORISE: And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. Mark 4:8

READ: Mark 4:20(KJV)

20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 20-22

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Today, I will discuss what it means to sow on good ground. Mark 4:20 tells us that the seeds which fell on good ground brought forth a harvest.

This implies that they did not fall by the wayside, they were watered by God, and they were not suffocated by thorns.

For you to sow on good ground and reap bountiful harvests, you must do the following:

1. Honour God with your resources and obey all His principles for financial success. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10

2. Cheerfully support God’s work financially. Giving towards God’s work can be by supporting a kingdom project, blessing a church, or sowing into the lives of God’s servants. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

3. Give to the poor and the needy. When you stretch out your hands to bless the less privileged, God blesses you in return. Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19:17, ESV

4. Be generous. Generosity attracts God’s blessings; whatever you give to others, you will receive in multiple folds. Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. Proverbs 11:25

5. Wait for God’s instructions before making financial decisions. When you seek His face before making decisions, He will guide you along the right path, but those who hastily make deals or investments without seeking God get their fingers burnt.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Beloved, if you have been sowing your seeds by the wayside, on stony ground, or among thorns, the good news is that if you change your ways and start living by the principles above, you will experience the harvest that comes from sowing on good ground.

I pray that the Lord will restore all that you may have lost from sowing wrongly, and your seeds will produce great harvests from now, in Jesus’ name.

Reflection

Have you been sowing on good ground?

TOPIC: The Thorny Ground

MEMORISE: And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. Mark 4:7

READ: Mark 4:18-19 (KJV)

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 16-19

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Today, I will continue my discussion on the different kinds of soils by examining thorny grounds. Thorns are dangerous, and they choke everything they come in contact with.

When people lead lifestyles that drain them financially because they want to show off, they are sowing on thorny ground. For example, such people may rent apartments that their income can hardly sustain, buy expensive clothes and jewelry that they cannot afford and get into unnecessary debt just to sustain their fake lifestyles.

When you live an extravagant life, you are putting your money in thorny ground. An adage says, ‘Cut your coat according to your cloth. Beloved, you must learn to live within your means and not make lifestyle decisions based on resources you do not have – some people fall into this trap because of their circle of friends. The Scripture says that blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly (Psalm 1:1). If you have friends who spend lavishly without counting the cost, you might follow suit and end up in debt.

Thorns can also refer to things that cause pockets to have holes. When the Israelites returned from exile in Babylon, they started building the temple, and at some point, they stopped and concentrated only on building their houses and empires. Haggai rebuked them for becoming self-centered and neglecting God’s house, telling them that they will never be satisfied with the things they have because of their attitude (Haggai 1:4-6).

God will not release His wisdom for financial abundance to those who will consume the wealth He gives them on their lusts. If all you care about is yourself, you are filling your ground with thorns because selfishness chokes God’s blessings upon a man’s life. Many people pray and fast for financial breakthroughs; however, few receive financial wisdom for such breakthroughs because God cannot trust them not to waste the wealth He gives them on their lusts. Can God trust you to continue to put Him first after He has blessed you financially? Will you still care for His kingdom when you arrive at your desired financial destination?

Beloved, ask the Lord to remove any attitude that tends to choke His blessings in your life and promise Him that you will always put Him first so that He can pour His blessings on you.

Prayer Point

Father, search my heart and take away every thorny attitude that will keep me from accessing your wisdom for financial abundance, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 23: Take My Life, And Let It Be

1 Take my life and let it be

consecrated, Lord, to thee.

Take my moments and my days;

let them flow in endless praise,

let them flow in endless praise.

2 Take my hands and let them move

at the impulse of thy love.

Take my feet and let them be

swift and beautiful for thee,

swift and beautiful for thee.

3 Take my voice and let me sing

always, only, for my King.

Take my lips and let them be

filled with messages from thee,

filled with messages from thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;

not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect and use

every power as thou shalt choose,

every power as thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will and make it thine;

it shall be no longer mine.

Take my heart it is thine own;

it shall be thy royal throne,

it shall be thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour

at thy feet its treasure store.

Take myself, and I will be

ever, only, all for thee,

ever, only, all for thee.

TOPIC: The Stony Ground

MEMORISE: And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: Mark 4:5

READ: Mark 4:16-17 (KJV)

16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 12-15

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In continuation of my discussion from yesterday about the different kinds of soils, I will examine stony grounds today. The major problem with a stony ground is that it does not retain water sufficiently for the seeds planted in it to grow. Water is needed for seeds to germinate, even though it is God who will determine the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-8).

In
Amos 4:7-8, the Lord said that if He decides to withhold the rain, a city will soon go into famine and will start begging another city, where it has continued to rain, for food.

When people invest in ventures that God is not involved in, they are planting seeds on stony grounds. When you consider such ventures carefully, you will realise that they are designed to attract and fool only greedy and desperate people. In my lifetime, I have seen many Ponzi schemes come and go, and I warn those close to me to desist from them. Some listen, but others do not, and they suffer when they lose their money.

God is and remains our Supplier; when we apply  Biblical principles and work diligently with our hands, He will prosper us. Any investment that goes against Biblical principles, such as hard work, diligence, faithfulness, patience, and contentment, is a stony ground. Those who hasten to be rich will not be innocent, and such people will end up piercing themselves through with many sorrows.

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10

Beloved, you must guard your heart against greed and covetousness. You must be content with what you have while working diligently so that God can bless the works of your hands.

Gehazi, Elisha’s servant, allowed greed to rule him, and he ended up inheriting leprosy. While he could have inherited a double portion of Elisha’s anointing, he subjected himself and his lineage to a lifetime of shame, seclusion, and frustration (

Beloved, greed, impatience, and not following God’s instructions can lead you to sow on stony grounds. Sowing on stony grounds cannot produce good harvests; it will only lead to frustration. I pray that the Lord will show you the right places to sow, in Jesus’ name.

Key Point

Father, help me not to sow on stony grounds. Please guide my sowing and bless the work of my hands, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 10: In Christ Alone

1 In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My Comforter, my All in All

Here in the love of Christ I stand

2 In Christ alone, who took on flesh

Fullness of God in helpless babe

This gift of love and righteousness

Scorned by the ones He came to save

‘Til on that cross as Jesus died

The wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid

Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

3 There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious Day

Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory

Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me

For I am His and He is mine

Bought with the precious blood of Christ

4 No guilt in life, no fear in death

This is the power of Christ in me

From life’s first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Can ever pluck me from His hand

Till He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
