MEMORISE: Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. Proverbs 19:15
READ: Proverbs 24:30-34 (KJV)
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
Some people think that they can become successful without working hard. I was at a students’ programme, and I became alarmed when some students were said to have spent all their time praying and fasting instead of spending time to study and prepare for their exams. When I inquired further, they said that they believe that the Holy Spirit would help them. They cited my experience about the Holy Spirit teaching me how to solve a complex mathematical problem from the Bible. I told them that I had already studied, laboured, and battled with 186 simultaneous equations for 18 months before the solution was revealed to me through a Scripture in the Bible.
The work of the Holy Spirit is to remind us of what we have learned. Therefore, you should start every endeavour by putting in the required effort. If you fail to prepare and work hard, you will fail, and the Holy Ghost will console you. In God, there is no room for laziness.
Hard work and diligence are vital to getting to the top. While we must pray, fast, and study the word, we cannot do away with hard work. Great men work hard; that is why they turn out great.
Beloved, staying at the top is more difficult than getting there. It takes greater effort to remain a champion than to become one. A philosopher once said, “The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”
Proverbs 22:29 says that diligent men stand before kings. If you are not diligent, you will not get anywhere. You cannot afford to fold your arms and expect God to work for you. Paul said that he planted, Apollos watered, and God gave the increase. If they did not plant or water, they would not have received any increase from God (1 Corinthians 3:6). If Paul, the great apostle laboured fervently and diligently, then you have no excuse to be lazy.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. – John 9:4
The Scripture above are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. If our Lord worked and diligently did the will of the Father, every believer must follow suit. Just like Him, we must also do the works of Him that has sent us, and to do them successfully, we must steer clear of idleness and laziness.
Reflection
Are you diligent in everything that you do?
HYMN 4: To The Work! To The Work! We Are Servants Of God
1 To the work! to the work! we are servants of God,
Let us follow the path that our Master has trod;
With the might of His power our strength to renew,
Let us do by His grace what He calls us to do.
Work for Him by His grace;
Work thru Him for His praise;
Work with Him all the days;
And work in Him in many ways.
2 To the work! to the work! let the hungry be fed;
To the fountain of life let the thirsty be led;
In the cross and its vict’ry our glory shall be,
While we herald the tidings, “Salvation is free!”
3 To the work! to the work! in the strength of the Lord,
By the pow’r of His Name, with the light of His Word,
All the slaves of the darkness of Satan set free
And His riches of grace in His glory we’ll see.

MEMORISE: The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. Psalm 121:7
READ: Psalm 91:1-16 (KJV)
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
My God is called the Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29). However, He doesn’t consume His children but rather, their enemies..
God is so jealous about His children that when enemies gather against them, He ensures that they scatter in seven different directions (Deuteronomy 28:25).
He promised to protect you such that not even a strand of your hair will be lost (Luke 21:18).
I wouldn’t be alive today if my God is not a protective father, and I can tell you a lot of stories about the numerous times He has protected me from danger.
When I moved into the camp that has now grown to become Redemption City with my family, there were snakes everywhere.
Some of those snakes were so big that they would fill up the trunk of a Mercedes Benz car. I remember, on one occasion, I entered my children’s room and found a snake there.
I don’t know exactly why I went into the room; I just know that God moved me to go there because He wanted to protect my children.
God also protects against spiritual forces. So many times, the devil has tried to attack me, especially in the early days of my ministry when we were just learning to deal with a lot of spiritual attacks from the kingdom of darkness.
On one occasion during a Holy Ghost Service, there were two witches in the congregation planning to attack me.
One spoke to the other and said, “It is time; let us attack him now.” Though there were thousands of people in the congregation, God opened my ears, and I heard them.
I stopped the service immediately and asked them to come out if they did not want to incur God’s wrath.
To everyone’s surprise, they came out and confessed. If God had not revealed it to me, the story might have been different.
If you are a child of God, you must walk in the consciousness of His protection over you. Don’t be afraid of the arrows of the enemy; they cannot come near you because God protects you.
I am so conscious of God’s protection over me that if I am walking and my leg hits a stone, I will turn to Him and say, “Lord, I hope I have not offended you in any way.
If I have, please forgive me.” This is because His word says that He will give His angels charge over me so I wouldn’t dash my foot against a stone (Psalm 91:11).
Reflection
God protects His children. Are you one of them?
HYMN 19: Rock Of Ages, Cleft For Me
1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.
2 Not the labors of my hands
can fulfill thy law’s demands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.
3 Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.
4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

MEMORISE: Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Psalm 25:4
READ:1 Corinthians 2:6-13 (KJV)
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
Yesterday, I narrated how God helped me to complete my PhD thesis by teaching me how to solve a complex mathematical problem through His word.
Today, I want to share with you another dimension of how God teaches His children.
During my postgraduate studies at the University of Lagos, my supervisor, an Indian, gave me an assignment just before he travelled.
When he returned, I had made significant progress, which made him ask me,
“Enoch, I know that you are a Christian, so you wouldn’t lie. Who helped you?”
He didn’t believe in God, but he knew that Christians do not lie. I knew that if I said ‘Jesus’, he would laugh at me, so I said, “Professor Emmanuel,” referring to one of the names of Jesus (Matthew 1:23).
When you become intimate with God, you will start operating on a level of wisdom and understanding that is above your peers.
The closer you are to God, the wiser He will make you. You will begin to answer questions in such a way that it will be obvious to people that you are being taught by God.
You will look at difficult situations, and God will impress their solutions in your spirit.
By the time you execute the solutions that God gives you, people will think that you are very smart, whereas you only have a teacher who is greater than all teachers.
In Galatians 3:27, the Bible says: For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
In Yorubaland, where I come from, there is a saying that when the leaf stays long with the soap, it also becomes soap.
Being baptized into Christ signifies that you are now one with God. As you grow in Him by praying regularly, fellowshipping with other believers, studying your Bible, evangelizing, and so on, you will start living the same way Christ would have if He were still physically on the earth.
You will start operating on a level of wisdom that is higher than that of those around you because you have surrendered to God and are completely sold out to Him.
Beloved, God is the greatest teacher of all; in Him lies all wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3). If you put your trust in Him and lean not on your understanding (Proverbs 3:5), He will be your teacher.
Key Point
When you become sufficiently intimate with God, you will start doing things like Him.
HYMN 8: I Need Thee Every Hour
1. I need Thee every hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
I come to Thee.
2. I need Thee every hour,
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their power
When Thou art nigh.
3. I need Thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.
4. I need Thee every hour,
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfill.
5. I need Thee every hour,
Most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.

MEMORISE: For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him. Isaiah 28:26
READ: Psalm 25:4-12 (KJV)
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
While I was studying for my PhD, I was faced with 186 simultaneous equations, which I had been trying to solve for 18 months. With no solution in sight, it looked like I would have to pick a new problem to solve, meaning that my 18 months of efforts would go to waste. One night, around 10pm, after battling the problem and still not making progress, I decided to read my Bible and go to bed. I was reading Exodus 14, where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, and I heard God’s voice,
“That is the solution to your problem.”
It didn’t make sense to me that the story of the crossing of the Red Sea would be the solution to a PhD thesis problem.
However, God said further,
“Go and bring your equations.”
I obeyed, and He started teaching me, instructing me to put some equations on the left and some on the right. By the time I finished, I realized that all the ones on the left had something in common, likewise the ones on the right. Then, God said,
“Now, solve the equations on the left together and those on the right together. Then, bring the two together.”
God taught me Mathematics with the parting of the Red Sea, and after five hours, my thesis was ready. It was so good that the external examiner said that he had no questions for me.
God teaches His children through His word. If you are an ardent student of the Bible, every now and then, as you study, He will teach you things that will make difficult situations become easy for you. David said in Psalm 119:105:
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Sometimes, the solution to your problem may come from just simply reading the Bible without necessarily having a man of God lay hands on your head. Unfortunately, many Christians don’t read their Bible, and that is why they continue to struggle with simple problems for many years. Jesus said in John 8:32:
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Having a knowledge of the truth through God’s word will ensure that you live victoriously. Students know that if they don’t study their textbooks, they will fail their exams. Your Bible is the textbook of life; study it so that you will not fail in life.
Action Point
Make sure you spend quality time studying your Bible every day
HYMN 30: When We Walk With The Lord
1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2. But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
3. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
