TOPIC: Jesus Cares

MEMORISE: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7

READ: 1 Kings 17:1-16(KJV)

1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

2 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

5 So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 – Open Heavens 11 March

6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

8 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 21-22

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

God cares deeply for all His children. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, we read about the widow of one of the sons of the prophets whose husband died and left her with a load of debt. When the creditor came and wanted to take her sons into bondage if she didn’t pay, she cried to Elisha, who told her to borrow many vessels and pour from the little bottle of oil that she had at home into them. The Great Provider stepped in, and she was able to pay off her debt and live off the proceeds of the oil she sold for the rest of her life.

In John 6:5-13, Jesus fed 5,000 men, not counting women and children, with a boy’s lunch. To show that He truly cared, He multiplied the lunch until everybody was fed and there were twelve baskets of leftovers.

These and many more stories show that Jesus truly cares. Jesus also cares about us, not just our needs.

He knows how fragile our human bodies are, and He wants us to be in good shape to do what He has called us to do. Years ago, there was a day l attended to people from 8:00am until 6:00pm when I managed to eat a little before attending our Bible study service. When I returned to my office, people were already waiting to see me. I kept praying for people until 10:30pm, and I was told there were ten more people waiting. By that time, my body was aching, and I was very tired. I asked God for what to do, and He said, “You don’t need to stand to pray for them. Sit down, touch their head, and let them go. They will receive their miracle.” I was surprised, and I said, “God, you mean I can talk to You, the Almighty, sitting down?” He replied that He has walked on the earth as a human, and He knows what it means to be tired.

Jesus knows our weak frame and cares deeply about us (Psalm 103:14). He is our High Priest who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities because He faced the same issues we now face (Hebrews 4:15). In today’s Bible reading, we see how God cared for His prophet throughout the famine; he wasn’t stranded at any point.

Beloved, put all your trust in God. He truly cares for you, and He will never leave you stranded.

Prayer Point

Thank You, Jesus, for Your loving care.

HYMN 5: Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine!

1  Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;

Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus:

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

2 Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angels descending, bring from above

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3 Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest;

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

TOPIC: Ask For Mercy

MEMORISE: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

READ: Luke 18:10-14 (KJV)

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 11-13

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

A brilliant Bible study leader always taught married couples that when the wife is pregnant and is about to deliver, all they need do is bind all the bindables, loose all the loosables, command the baby to come out, and the baby will be delivered easily.

When he got married, and his wife became pregnant and was about to deliver, he said the same prayers, but the baby did not come out.

After his wife had been in labour for three days. he fell on his face and said, “God, just have mercy on me.”

When he went back to see his wife, their baby had been delivered safely.

God is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4); His mercy is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him (Psalm 103:17).

In Mark 1:40-42, a leper came to Jesus and said,

“I know you can heal me if you are willing.”

Jesus, moved with compassion, said,

“I will,” and He did.

Beloved, when your prayers don’t seem to be answered, just ask God for mercy; He hardly ignores such a plea.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus told the story of two fellows who went to the temple to pray.

One of them, a Pharisee, told God about all his good deeds; the other, a publican, bowed his head and said,

“God be merciful to me, a sinner.”

The man who cried for mercy was the one who returned home justified. When you ask for mercy, you acknowledge your helplessness before God, and He will respond to you with help.

Bartimaeus’ cry for mercy reached Jesus’ ears, and he got his miracle. He didn’t only receive his sight; Jesus made him whole (Mark 10:46-52).

The woman from Tyre and Sidon cried for mercy on behalf of her demon-possessed daughter, and Jesus helped her (Matthew 15:21-28). Those who ask God for mercy never leave empty-handed.

You need God’s mercy when things are good and when they are not so good. You need mercy when you are in need and when you are satisfied.

When in need, God’s mercy will bring you answers to problems, and in good times, His mercy will preserve your blessings.

The cry for mercy shouldn’t only be on the lips of those who are in trouble and need urgent help; even those who live in abundance and believe they don’t have problems must ask for mercy so nothing will tamper with their blessings.

Let go of everything that will not allow the power of God in the Holy Communion to manifest in your life.

Action Point

Go ahead and ask for mercy in every area of your life.

HYMN 15: Pass Me Not, O Gentle Saviour

1 Pass me not, O gentle Savior,

Hear my humble cry,

While on others Thou art calling,

Do not pass me by.

Refrain:

Savior, Savior,

Hear my humble cry;

While on others Thou art calling,

Do not pass me by.

2 Let me at a throne of mercy

Find a sweet relief;

Kneeling there in deep contrition,

Help my unbelief. [Refrain]

3 Trusting only in Thy merit,

Would I seek Thy face;

Heal my wounded, broken spirit,

Save me by Thy grace. [Refrain]

4 Thou the Spring of all my comfort,

More than life to me,

Whom have I on earth beside Thee?

Whom in heav’n but Thee? [Refrain]

MEMORISE: I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. Psalm 3:4

READ: Psalm 30:1-8 (KJV)

1 I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

3 O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

7 Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

8 I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication.

HYMN 27: What A Friend We Have In Jesus

1 What a friend we have in Jesus,

all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

all because we do not carry

everything to God in prayer!

2 Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged;

take it to the Lord in prayer!

Can we find a friend so faithful

who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness;

take it to the Lord in prayer!

3 Are we weak and heavy laden,

cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior, still our refuge–

take it to the Lord in prayer!

Do your friends despise, forsake you?

Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In his arms he’ll take and shield you;

you will find a solace there.

TOPIC: God In You

MEMORISE: For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1 Corinthians 11:31

READ: 1 Corinthians 11:23-34(KJV)

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 1-4

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

When you partake of the Holy Communion, you are eating Jesus’ body and drinking His blood, as we read in today’s Bible reading.

You are not just touching his body and blood, you are ingesting Him, and you can boldly say to anyone,

“Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

When I was an interpreter for my Father in the Lord, I usually looked forward to Holy Communion services.

Then, we partook of the Holy Communion once every year, and I was always excited because I knew that my spiritual battery would be recharged.

Papa would be preaching, and I would be interpreting, thinking to myself,

“Papa, please hurry up so we can get to the Communion.”

By the time we finally got around to drinking the wine, I usually had to control myself from dropping the cup because I would be shaking from head to toe.

I cherish partaking of the Communion so much because I always experience a new infilling of the Holy Spirit every time I drink the wine.

The Holy Communion is not an ordinary meal; the moment God’s minister blesses the bread and the wine, using the words of Jesus Christ in 1 Corinthians 11:24-26, they become sacred.

The wine in the Communion represents the blood of Jesus, and this blood cleanses from all sin.

The blood also causes every evil to pass over us as it did with the Israelites on the night the destroyer killed all the firstborns in Egypt (Exodus 12:21-30).

This means that the blood of Jesus protects us and gives us victory oven the enemy (Revelation 12:11).

This is why those who drink it unworthily in sin fall sick and die (1 Corinthians 11:27-30).

Those who drink it worthily experience a resurrection power from within, producing healing, deliverance, intimacy with God, and more.

When you take the Holy Communion, you have come to dine at the table of the King of kings, and it is important that you do not have anything that will mark you as an enemy of the King as you approach His table.

Ensure that you examine yourself and get rid of anything that would expose you to the wrath of the King.

Get rid of sin, doubt, and everything that would not allow the power in Christ’s body and blood to manifest in your life.

Action Point

Let go of everything that will not allow the power of God in the Holy Communion to manifest in your life.

HYMN 9: What Can Wash Away Your Stain

1 What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

What can make me whole again?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:

O precious is the flow

that makes me white as snow;

no other fount I know;

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2 For my pardon this I see:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my cleansing this my plea:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

3 Nothing can for sin atone:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Naught of good that I have done:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

4 This is all my hope and peace:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

This is all my righteousness:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

TOPIC: When Your Faith Is Not Enough

MEMORISE: And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24

READ: Ezekiel 37:1-14 (KJV)

1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.

4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

5 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 1-4

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, Ezekiel found himself in a valley that was full of dry bones. When God asked him, “Can these bones live?” The prophet, considering the seemingly impossible situation before him, answered, “Lord, only You can tell.” In other words, he was saying, “This is beyond my faith.” God asked him to prophesy, and as he did, the dry bones came back to life.

Most ministers of God know that He can do all things. However, sometimes, the faith of even the greatest ministers can be terribly shaken.

Sometimes, God will ask me to do something, and despite my faith in Him, I will say, “Daddy, this is beyond my faith.” He will ask me to prophesy all the same, and I will just obey and leave the fulfilment to Him.

When you hear a minister of God prophesy, and it is beyond your faith, please don’t speak against the prophecy. Even if you don’t believe the prophecy, control your mouth not to speak against it because the consequences may be severe. In 2 Kings 7:19-20, a top government official said it was impossible for Elisha’s prophecy to be fulfilled; he saw the prophecy come to pass, but he died before he could partake of it.

In Mark 9:14-27, Jesus’ disciples were unable to deliver a demon-possessed boy, and his father had lost hope. When Jesus arrived at the scene, the boy’s father’s request for compassion was filled with doubt. I know this because Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Instead of sinking further in unbelief, the man cried out, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief,” and he received his miracle.

When situations are beyond your faith, cry out to God for help to believe. He can increase your faith to help you cooperate with Him to birth the impossible. Don’t hinder your miracle because of unbelief. God wants you to be willing to do whatever He demands, like the servants at the wedding in Cana (John 2:5-8).

Beloved, when God brings situations that are beyond your faith your way, He wants to glorify Himself. At such times, it is not about what your faith can do but what God can do with your obedience and whatever measure of faith you have.

Prayer Point

When a situation is beyond your faith, look to God and do whatever He commands.

HYMN 30: When We Walk With The Lord

1. When we walk with the Lord,

In the light of His word,

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will

He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey!

For there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.

2. But we never can prove

The delights of His love,

Until all on the altar we lay,

For the favour He shows

And the joy He bestows

Are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

3. Then in fellowship sweet

We will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,

What He says we will do,

Where He sends we will go,

Never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
