MEMORISE: Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God. Jeremiah 3:22

READ: Luke 15:11-32 (KJV)

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 17-19

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

My Father is the God of all possibilities; He can change even a dog to a beloved child.

As far as God is concerned, those who are not born again are dogs (Matthew 15:21-28).

A backslider is also considered a dog. When Peter spoke about backsliders, he said,

“But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire” (2 Peter 2:22).

God is merciful, and His mercy can change the worst sinners into His beloved children. In

1 Timothy 1:15, Apostle Paul said, “I was the chief of sinners,” but God changed him, and he became a chief among apostles (2 Corinthians 11:5). With God, all things are possible.

A young evangelist who faithfully won several souls to God fell into fornication.

Consequently, satan deceived him that he could never receive God’s forgiveness. He believed the lie and continued to live in sin until one day, he fell ill and was hospitalized. He was put in the same ward with a pastor, who always studied his Bible diligently. The evangelist admired the pastor, and one day, the pastor asked him if he was a Christian. He said that he used to be, and when the pastor asked why he stopped following God, he shared his story.

The pastor immediately showed him through the Scriptures that he could be forgiven and restored. Then, he prayed with him, and the young evangelist was restored – joy flooded his heart. The next morning, the pastor didn’t see the young evangelist. When he asked the nurses about him, they told him that he had joyfully passed on. God mercifully allowed the young man to return from his vomit before taking him home.

God is willing to restore backsliders when they return to Him sincerely; He is not interested in their death or destruction. In Jeremiah 3:13-14, He pleaded with backsliders to acknowledge their iniquity and turn to Him. God will always receive and restore people with humble and contrite hearts. The prodigal son was a backslider who received his Father’s mercy and was fully restored. Despite all he did, when he repented and took the right step to return to his father, he was received joyfully. God delights in welcoming lost sons home. If you are backslidden, don’t allow satan lie to you that God can never forgive you. He is waiting for you with wide open arms; return to Him now.

Key Point

God is willing and able to restore backsliders to Himself. All they need to do is return to Him with sincere hearts.

HYMN 9: What Can Wash Away My Stain

1 What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

What can make me whole again?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:

O precious is the flow

that makes me white as snow;

no other fount I know;

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2 For my pardon this I see:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my cleansing this my plea:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

3 Nothing can for sin atone:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Naught of good that I have done:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

4 This is all my hope and peace:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

This is all my righteousness:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

TOPIC: The Lord Of Hosts

MEMORISE: As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 47:4

READ: Isaiah 51:15-16 (KJV)

15 But I am the Lord thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The Lord of hosts is his name.

16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 14-16

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

According to Psalm 24:7-10, God is the Lord of hosts; the Commander-in-chief of all hosts in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth.

Even the devil operates within the confines of what He allows, as we see in the book of Job.

God can deal with any number of demons, be it one as in Mark 1:23-27, seven as in Luke 8:1-3, or a legion as in Mark 5:2-20. If there are any demonic forces interfering with your life, they will be put to shame, in Jesus’ name.

I used to say that the Lord of hosts never loses a battle, but recently, He corrected me and said,

“Son, I can choose to lose a battle to win a war. I can never lose a war.”

Sometimes, the Lord of hosts, in His divine wisdom, can choose to lose a battle because there is a greater war to win. For example, He allowed the devil to touch Job’s possessions and health because He wanted to showcase the excellency of His power. In another example, Pharaoh’s magicians did the same things Moses and Aaron did when they first confronted Pharaoh.

However, it got to a point where they were terrified and declared,

“This is the finger of God..”

(Exodus 8:19). God permitted Pharaoh to remain stubborn so that He could reveal His mighty hand (Romans 9:17).

While Stephen was being stoned, Saul watched, and the devil rejoiced. The devil must have thought that he had won when he eliminated Stephen, not knowing that the agent he used to oversee the task would later become a major general in God’s army. God had a bigger picture; He planned to use Saul to wreak great havoc on the kingdom of hell, and He succeeded. The Lord of hosts wins every war. No matter how terrible things get, when He steps on the scene, everything will align in favour of His beloved children. No wonder Paul said,

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and who are the called according to His purpose”  (Romans 8:28).

Beloved, the Lord of hosts isn’t just the mighty Man in battle; He is also the only wise God (1 Timothy 1:17). He can rearrange things to suit His purpose – even the worst of situations.

Trust Him to use whatever unpleasant situation that exists in your life for your good and for His glory.

Key Point

The Lord of hosts never loses a war; He arranges everything to suit His purposes.

HYMN 18: Praise To The Lord The Lord Almighty, The King Of Creation

1. Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!

O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation:

Join the great throng

psaltery, organ and song

sounding in glad adoration.

2. Praise to the Lord,

over all things he gloriously reigneth:

Borne as on eagle-wings, safely his saints, He sustaineth

Has thou not seen

How all thou needest hath been

Granted in what he ordaineth?

3. Praise to the Lord,

Who doth prosper thy way and defend thee;

Surely his goodness and mercy shall ever attend thee;

ponder anew, What the almighty can do

Who with his love doth befriend thee.

4. Praise to the Lord!

O let all that is in me adore him!

All that has breath join with Abraham’s Seed to adore him!

Let the Amen, sum all our praises again;

Now as we worship before him.

TOPIC: Marriage Don't Wait For Perfect Conditions

MEMORISE: He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not. Ecclesiastes 11:4

READ: Genesis 2:18-25 (KJV)

18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 9-10

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, God said that it is not good for I man to be alone, and He instituted marriage. This is why believers should not delay getting married once they are mature enough, have a stable source of income, and God has shown them the right partners.

Marriage, however, isn’t an achievement in itself; a man and his wife are to help each other achieve their God-given goals. Believers should not try to achieve everything before getting married; whoever they marry is to help them fulfil their purpose and aspirations. Some of the things people struggle to achieve will become easier when their helpers join them (Deuteronomy 32:30).

The earlier people marry and start having children, the quicker they can finish raising them and focus on God’s work. However, this exempts those whom God told specifically not to get married. I thank God I married early and had children early too. Imagine if I had my first child at age 40; I might have been unable to focus on God’s work as I should, and my wife might have been unavailable to help me. Once I was done raising all my children, I might not have had the same strength I had to do God’s work in the early days of my ministry.

Many people delay getting married until they realize that time is running out fast. Consequently, they hurriedly find someone to marry. Marriage is not an institution to rush into; there is a need to pray and be sure of God’s will concerning it. When people are in a hurry to get married, everything will look like a sign of God’s will, and they may end up marrying the wrong partners. Marrying the wrong person is like driving with someone who isn’t going in your direction. There will always be disagreements, confusion, and stress because both parties are going in opposite directions.

Lamentations 3:27 says that it is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth. In the context of marriage, ‘yoke’ is not a bad thing because marriage means being yoked together with the person that God has ordained to help you.

In youth, people have enough strength to conquer mountains and achieve profound things with their spouses. It is unwise to wait for the perfect conditions before getting married because they will never come (Ecclesiastes 11:4). Those who keep waiting to have everything before they marry might end up wasting precious time chasing the wrong things.

Key Point

Unless God has specifically told you to wait, it is unwise to delay getting married.

HYMN 28: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

1 Guide me, O my great Redeemer,

pilgrim through this barren land;

I am weak, but you are mighty;

hold me with your powerful hand.

Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,

feed me now and evermore,

feed me now and evermore.

2 Open now the crystal fountain,

where the healing waters flow.

Let the fire and cloudy pillar

lead me all my journey through.

Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,

ever be my strength and shield,

ever be my strength and shield.

3 When I tread the verge of Jordan,

bid my anxious fears subside.

Death of death, and hell’s Destruction,

land me safe on Canaan’s side.

Songs of praises, songs of praises

I will ever sing to you,

I will ever sing to you.

MEMORISE: God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Acts 17:24

READ: Psalm 24:1-2 (KJV)

1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 6-8

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Today’s Bible reading says that everything on the earth belongs to God, including silver, gold, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

Nobody can be richer than the Owner of the whole earth. Whatever anyone possesses is just a little bit of what God has.

The real resources are in His hands, and He can supply all your needs effortlessly.

In 2 Kings 4:1-7, the widow of one of the sons of the prophets was bankrupt, and creditors wanted to seize her sons as repayment for the debt.

However, God intervened, and in a short time, He provided her with so much money that she became debt-free and had enough to live on for her lifetime.

In John 6:5-13, He fed 5,000 people with a little boy’s lunch.

Afterwards, there were 12 baskets of leftovers. God fed the multitude, and the leftovers were more than what He started with. In Jesus’ name, all your needs will be met.

I once travelled to London, and while I was there, I ran out of money. I needed £50 to buy books, and as I went to bed one night, l prayed, “God, I wish I had £50.”

Soon after, the phone rang. I picked it up, and the caller said, “Biyi?” I said, “There is no Biyi here.”

When he asked who I was, I answered, “My name is Adeboye.” He asked, “Which Adeboye?” and I said, “Pastor Adeboye of RCCG.”

He began to scream, and he eventually came over with his brother. When they were leaving, they gave me £50.

After they left, I told God that if I knew how easily He could give me £50, I would have asked for £100.

Almost ten minutes after saying that, the doorbell rang. However, before I could get to the door, the person left.

Underneath the door, I saw an envelope containing another £50 from a rich miser that I had known for a long time.

Again, I asked for another £50, and soon after, I miraculously got it. I became afraid and said, “Lord, I am joking. I am already satisfied with the first £50.”

God embarrassed me with much more than I needed because He owns everything.

Beloved, there is no limit to what God can do for His children. He is the creator of the entire universe, and He owns it all.

Key Point

God is limitless in what He can do for you when you are His child.

MEMORISE: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: Daniel 2:21

READ: Matthew 15:21-28 (KJV)

21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 1-3

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

God never changes, but He can change things; this is why I call Him the Unchangeable Changer. He can change a ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’.

In today’s Bible reading, a woman came to Jesus, asking Him to heal her daughter. Jesus initially refused to answer her, then later on, told her ‘no’. She, however, persisted, and He eventually turned His ‘No’ into a ‘Yes’.

During a church programme, God’s word came that someone who was applying for a US visa had just received it. A young lady, who had an interview at the US embassy the following Monday, was so excited because she believed the prophecy was for her. Her visa application was, however, declined.

Surprised, she told the visa officer, “But my daddy said the visa has been granted.” The officer looked at her and said, “Who is your daddy?” She replied, “My daddy is Pastor Adeboye.” The officer laughed, “I thought you were going to say the president or governor, but a pastor? Please leave.”

As she turned to leave, the visa officer said, “Wait. Because you made me laugh, I’ll give you the visa.” It wasn’t laughter that turned the situation around; it was because there is a God who can change a ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’.

Sometimes, God changes the ‘No’ of His children’s enemies to a ‘Yes’. Pharaoh kept saying ‘No’ to Moses’ demands to let God’s people go, but God arose in His mighty power to change that ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’. In one night, He dealt with all the firstborns in Egypt because Pharaoh refused to allow His firstborn, Israel, to serve Him (Exodus 4:22-23). I pray that every ‘No’ from a boss or someone in authority who has prevented you from making progress in life will be turned into a ‘Yes’ now, in Jesus’ name.

Have faith in God and keep trusting Him. Like the woman who persistently asked Jesus for healing for her daughter and got it eventually, your persistent faith will open doors that have remained shut against you. Moses kept going to Pharaoh until God forced him to change his ‘No’ into a “Yes’.

Beloved, as you keep trusting in God, I decree that every door that has remained shut and has prevented you from fulfilling your destiny will be opened now. Every ‘No’ that is not in line with God’s will is turning into a “Yes’ for you, in Jesus’ name.

Key Point

Persistent faith in God will turn a ‘No’ into a Yes’.

HYMN 30: When We Walk With The Lord

1. When we walk with the Lord,

In the light of His word,

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will

He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey!

For there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.

2. But we never can prove

The delights of His love,

Until all on the altar we lay,

For the favour He shows

And the joy He bestows

Are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

3. Then in fellowship sweet

We will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,

What He says we will do,

Where He sends we will go,

Never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
