MEMORISE: For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Malachi 3:6

READ: Lamentations 3:22-26 (KJV)

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 1-3

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

We live in a world of constants and variables. For example, the heights and weights of humans are variables as they differ between individuals.

Wealth is also a variable because some people are rich while some are poor.

Even among the rich, wealth remains a variable because a fellow can have riches today, and it could all be gone tomorrow (Proverbs 23:5).

In contrast, constants represent things that never change. For instance, men do not get pregnant and give birth.

In life also, we have variable constants; these are things that are supposed to be constant but can be subject to changes.

For example, adults are supposed to have 32 teeth, but if you check, you may find that some adults have less than 32 teeth.

Ecclesiastes 12:3 says that the grinders become few with age, which is the Bible’s wonderful way of saying that you may lose some of your teeth as you grow older.

Furthermore, we have absolute constants. For example, a day following a night is a constant.

It has been happening since the world began, and it will continue to happen until God says otherwise.

Psalm 30:5 says that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

It is certain that a day will follow a night; therefore, before sunrise tomorrow, all your sorrows will be gone, in Jesus’ name.

Our God is an absolute constant. In today’s memory verse, He said, “…l am the Lord, I change not…” He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Who He was is who He is – He never changes. That is why He introduced Himself to Moses as I AM, not 1 WAS, nor ‘I WILL BE’.

If He gave someone a miracle yesterday, you can rest assured that He can give you the same today.

The God who healed the sick and made the lame walk is still the same.

Do you have a case that looks impossible? Our God is Almighty, and there is nothing impossible with Him (Luke 1:37).

Pray and search through the Scriptures for God’s word to you concerning the situation, for the things that were written in the Bible were written for your learning, that you might have hope through patience and the comfort of the Scriptures (Romans 15:4).

Beloved, God never changes; His word is constant (Isaiah 40:8). Let your heart be filled with hope because His word never fails.

Hold on to His word, and very soon, your hope will be turned into testimonies.

Key Word

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. He is our sure constant amidst

HYMN 21: My Hope Built On Nothing Less

1. My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Refrain:

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand,

All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness seems to veils His face,

I rest on His unchanging grace;

In every high and stormy gale,

My anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]

3. His oath, His covenant, and blood,

Support me in the whelming flood;

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,

Oh, may I then in Him be found;

Dressed in His righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]

TOPIC: The Seed Of God

MEMORISE: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:23

READ: 1 John 3:7-9 (KJV)

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ruth 1-4

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

When God’s seed is in you, sin becomes irritating to you. No matter how hungry a cat is, it will not eat faeces. Today’s Bible reading says that if you are born of God, you cannot sin because God’s seed is in you. As God’s child, no matter the temptation you face, His seed in you will help you overcome it.

People who claim to be born again and are still enjoying sin are not truly saved. Sin separates people from God and makes them satan’s lawful captives (2 Timothy 2:26). If you are living in sin, you should cry to God for His salvation that takes away the seed of sin and replaces it with His seed.

God translates believers from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His light (Colossians 1:13) and gives them a new identity and DNA. Just as a mango seed can never produce an apple, Christians don’t have the capacity to produce sin because God’s seed is in them. However, if a believer refuses to nurture and grow this seed, he or she will be overpowered by sin. Abiding in God’s word is one way to allow the seed of God within you to bloom and cause you to bear the fruits of righteousness.

Today’s memory verse says that you have been born again of incorruptible seed – the word of God, which lives and abides forever. His word is sharper than any two-edged sword and can discern the intents of our hearts long before they become actions (

Hebrews 4:12). Christians who allow God’s word to dwell richly in them (Colossians 3:16) will stand strong against temptations and sin. Sin is an operation of darkness, but God’s word brings light and understanding (Psalm 119:130). Knowing God’s word will make you wise and alert; you will be able to foresee the dangers in certain situations and hide yourself (Proverbs 22:3).

Joseph discerned the evil in Potiphar’s wife’s request and ran away (Genesis 39:12). Samson, on the other hand, couldn’t discern the evil in Delilah’s request until it was too late (Judges 16:1-21). If you want to be a great instrument in God’s hands, you must take God’s word seriously. Anything that keeps you from God’s word wants to destroy your soul. God’s seed in you will be preserved from the corruption of sin when you make His word your topmost priority.

Don’t allow yourself to become Satan’s lawful captive.

Reflection

Is God’s word your meditation all day long? (Psalm 119:97).

HYMN 24: I Wat To Be Like Jesus

1 Earthly pleasures vainly call me;

I would be like Jesus;

Nothing worldly shall enthrall me,

I would be like Jesus.

Refrain:

Be like Jesus - this my song,

In the home and in the throng;

Be like Jesus, all day long,

I would be like Jesus.

2 He has broken every fetter,

I would be like Jesus;

That my soul may serve Him better,

I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]

3 All the way from earth to glory,

I would be like Jesus;

Telling o’er and o’er the story,

I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]

4 That in heaven He may meet me,

I would be like Jesus;

That His words “Well done” may greet me,

I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]

MEMORISE: But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew 9:13

READ: 1 Timothy 1:11-17 (KJV)

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 20-21

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Yesterday, I established that God considers sinners and backsliders as dogs (Matthew 15:21-28, 2 Peter 2:22), and today, I will conclude the discussion on God’s willingness to change them to children.

Before I became born again, and while I was still single, I had so many girlfriends. Years later, after I had gotten married and given my life to Christ, I became a lecturer at the University of Ilorin. After a while, one of my former girlfriends, who had also gotten married, relocated to llorin with her husband.

She had a child who was born lame, and somebody told her that there was a pastor who could pray for her child, and the child would begin to walk. When she came to the church, she asked to see the pastor. She was ushered into my office, and when she opened the door and saw me, we greeted ourselves as old flames would. Finally, she said, “I want to see the pastor.” I said, “Yes, how can I help you?” She replied, “I said I want to see the pastor.” I said, “I am the pastor.” She responded, “You? You will pray, and God will answer?” We prayed, and the child began to walk.

The Bible says that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). The greatest miracle is the salvation of souls. If you are not yet born again, no matter now grave your sins are, God can save you too as He saved me.

Before Saul encountered Jesus, he was a persecutor of Christians. However, after his encounter, he became a great asset to the Kingdom (1 Timothy 1:12-14). God converted cities through him, and a whole continent heard of Jesus through his ministry (Acts 19:26).

There is no limit to what God can do in you, with you, and through you because when He transforms a man, He does it completely. As a son, you will have access to divine privileges. You will have the right to call God your Father, and you will partake of His inheritance.

Paul understood what it meant to be a new creature, and as God’s child, he exercised his divine rights and authority. From a former dog, special miracles happened, and many people became transformed. If you are not yet born again, God wants to give you a new identity and make you His beloved child. Surrender to Him now and watch Him make your life a wonder to many (Psalm 71:7).

Key Point

God is still in the business of transforming dogs into children

HYMN 2: Amazing Grace! How Sweet The Sound!

1 Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch; like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

2 Through many dangers, toils, and snares

I have already come

This grace that brought me safe thus far

And grace will lead me home

3 The Lord hath promised good to me,

His word my hope secures;

He will my shield and portion be

As long as life endures.

4 Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

and mortal life shall cease:

I shall possess, within the veil,

a life of joy and peace.

5 The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,

the sun forbear to shine;

but God, who called me here below,

will be forever mine.

6 When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Than when we first begun.

MEMORISE: Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God. Jeremiah 3:22

READ: Luke 15:11-32 (KJV)

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 17-19

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

My Father is the God of all possibilities; He can change even a dog to a beloved child.

As far as God is concerned, those who are not born again are dogs (Matthew 15:21-28).

A backslider is also considered a dog. When Peter spoke about backsliders, he said,

“But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire” (2 Peter 2:22).

God is merciful, and His mercy can change the worst sinners into His beloved children. In

1 Timothy 1:15, Apostle Paul said, “I was the chief of sinners,” but God changed him, and he became a chief among apostles (2 Corinthians 11:5). With God, all things are possible.

A young evangelist who faithfully won several souls to God fell into fornication.

Consequently, satan deceived him that he could never receive God’s forgiveness. He believed the lie and continued to live in sin until one day, he fell ill and was hospitalized. He was put in the same ward with a pastor, who always studied his Bible diligently. The evangelist admired the pastor, and one day, the pastor asked him if he was a Christian. He said that he used to be, and when the pastor asked why he stopped following God, he shared his story.

The pastor immediately showed him through the Scriptures that he could be forgiven and restored. Then, he prayed with him, and the young evangelist was restored – joy flooded his heart. The next morning, the pastor didn’t see the young evangelist. When he asked the nurses about him, they told him that he had joyfully passed on. God mercifully allowed the young man to return from his vomit before taking him home.

God is willing to restore backsliders when they return to Him sincerely; He is not interested in their death or destruction. In Jeremiah 3:13-14, He pleaded with backsliders to acknowledge their iniquity and turn to Him. God will always receive and restore people with humble and contrite hearts. The prodigal son was a backslider who received his Father’s mercy and was fully restored. Despite all he did, when he repented and took the right step to return to his father, he was received joyfully. God delights in welcoming lost sons home. If you are backslidden, don’t allow satan lie to you that God can never forgive you. He is waiting for you with wide open arms; return to Him now.

Key Point

God is willing and able to restore backsliders to Himself. All they need to do is return to Him with sincere hearts.

HYMN 9: What Can Wash Away My Stain

1 What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

What can make me whole again?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:

O precious is the flow

that makes me white as snow;

no other fount I know;

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2 For my pardon this I see:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my cleansing this my plea:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

3 Nothing can for sin atone:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Naught of good that I have done:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

4 This is all my hope and peace:

nothing but the blood of Jesus.

This is all my righteousness:

nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

TOPIC: The Lord Of Hosts

MEMORISE: As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 47:4

READ: Isaiah 51:15-16 (KJV)

15 But I am the Lord thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The Lord of hosts is his name.

16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 14-16

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

According to Psalm 24:7-10, God is the Lord of hosts; the Commander-in-chief of all hosts in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth.

Even the devil operates within the confines of what He allows, as we see in the book of Job.

God can deal with any number of demons, be it one as in Mark 1:23-27, seven as in Luke 8:1-3, or a legion as in Mark 5:2-20. If there are any demonic forces interfering with your life, they will be put to shame, in Jesus’ name.

I used to say that the Lord of hosts never loses a battle, but recently, He corrected me and said,

“Son, I can choose to lose a battle to win a war. I can never lose a war.”

Sometimes, the Lord of hosts, in His divine wisdom, can choose to lose a battle because there is a greater war to win. For example, He allowed the devil to touch Job’s possessions and health because He wanted to showcase the excellency of His power. In another example, Pharaoh’s magicians did the same things Moses and Aaron did when they first confronted Pharaoh.

However, it got to a point where they were terrified and declared,

“This is the finger of God..”

(Exodus 8:19). God permitted Pharaoh to remain stubborn so that He could reveal His mighty hand (Romans 9:17).

While Stephen was being stoned, Saul watched, and the devil rejoiced. The devil must have thought that he had won when he eliminated Stephen, not knowing that the agent he used to oversee the task would later become a major general in God’s army. God had a bigger picture; He planned to use Saul to wreak great havoc on the kingdom of hell, and He succeeded. The Lord of hosts wins every war. No matter how terrible things get, when He steps on the scene, everything will align in favour of His beloved children. No wonder Paul said,

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and who are the called according to His purpose”  (Romans 8:28).

Beloved, the Lord of hosts isn’t just the mighty Man in battle; He is also the only wise God (1 Timothy 1:17). He can rearrange things to suit His purpose – even the worst of situations.

Trust Him to use whatever unpleasant situation that exists in your life for your good and for His glory.

Key Point

The Lord of hosts never loses a war; He arranges everything to suit His purposes.

HYMN 18: Praise To The Lord The Lord Almighty, The King Of Creation

1. Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!

O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation:

Join the great throng

psaltery, organ and song

sounding in glad adoration.

2. Praise to the Lord,

over all things he gloriously reigneth:

Borne as on eagle-wings, safely his saints, He sustaineth

Has thou not seen

How all thou needest hath been

Granted in what he ordaineth?

3. Praise to the Lord,

Who doth prosper thy way and defend thee;

Surely his goodness and mercy shall ever attend thee;

ponder anew, What the almighty can do

Who with his love doth befriend thee.

4. Praise to the Lord!

O let all that is in me adore him!

All that has breath join with Abraham’s Seed to adore him!

Let the Amen, sum all our praises again;

Now as we worship before him.
