MEMORISE: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
READ: 1 Samuel 13:1-14 (KJV)
1 Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,
2 Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.
3 And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.
4 And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal.
5 And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.
6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.
7 And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.
11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;
12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
In Luke 1:26-38, an angel visited Mary and told her she was going to be pregnant and that she would give birth to a special son who was going to be great. Mary said,
“That’s wonderful, but are you forgetting that I am not married yet? l have never known a man; how will a virgin conceive?”
The angel said,
“The Holy Ghost will handle that because, with God, nothing shall be impossible.”
Imagine what could have happened if she tried to help the Lord by sleeping with a man, just like Sarah did when she encouraged Abraham to sleep with Hagar so He could have a child (Genesis 16:1-3).
Years ago, my wife and I were praying for a certain woman who was waiting for the fruit of the womb. After a while, she lost hope and consulted a witch doctor who made some charms for her, and she got pregnant. That was over twenty years ago; up until now, she has not delivered the baby. When you try to help God, you will play into the devil’s hands.
King Saul was another person who tried to help God. Shortly after he became king, the Philistines gathered together to fight Israel.
It was a difficult situation, and the people began to mount pressure on Saul to act.
Instead of waiting for Samuel to present the burnt offering, Saul decided to help God, so he overstepped his bounds into the priestly office and offered the sacrifice. When Samuel asked him why he tried to help God, he came up with excuses that he thought were valid. Those who try to help God always have excuses and reasons to do so, but this doesn’t stop them from bearing the consequences of their disobedience. Saul lost the throne because of this foolish act.
Beloved, do not try to help God; just do your part according to His word and leave the rest to Him. If you try to help Him, you will open yourself up to the devil’s manipulations and make grave mistakes. I have noticed from my walk with God that whenever He asks that you wait for Him, it is because there is something glorious on the way. Don’t get deceived by the flashy things the enemy tries to dangle in front of you to distract you or push you to ‘help God’. By trying to help Him, you might end up destroying the very things that you want Him to help you build.
Key Point
Don’t try to help God. When you do, you might destroy the things that you want Him to help you build.
HYMN 30: When We Walk With The Lord
1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2. But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
3. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]

MEMORISE: I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matthew 3:11
READ: Luke 1:26-38 (KJV)
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
After reading today’s topic, you may ask, how do I become a vessel unto honour? The simple answer is that you need the Holy Spirit.
In 1 Samuel 16:1,11-13, God told Samuel, “I am sending you to Jesse’s house because I want to raise a king there.” Jesse didn’t present David initially because the entire family believed that David was not the kind of person who could become a king. However, as soon as David came, God said, “That is him.” Samuel poured oil on David’s head, and the Bible says that the Spirit of God came upon him. When the Spirit of God came upon the shepherd boy, he became who God wanted him to be – a king.
God has a great plan for your life, but you need the power of the Holy Spirit over your life to fulfil it.
In 1 Samuel 10:6, Samuel told Saul that the Spirit of God would come on him and he would prophesy; the Spirit of God turned an ordinary boy into a prophet. In Judges 13:1-25, an angel told a woman that she was going to give birth to a son and that he would be a judge in Israel.
After that son was born, the Bible says that the Spirit of God began to move him. When the Spirit of God comes on someone, the fellow becomes who God says he or she will be. In today’s Bible reading, when the angel told Mary, “You will have a son, and He will be the son of the Highest,” she asked, “How can this be since I know no man?” The angel gave her the ultimate solution to impossible cases: The Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit came upon her, she did the impossible; she conceived God and birthed Him into the world. She became a vessel unto honour because the Holy Spirit came upon her.
Are you struggling with sin? Do you find it difficult to spend time in God’s presence?
Do you lack the fire and zeal to live a holy life? Do you keep going back to your vomit of addictions? Cry out for the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is symbolized as fire, and when fire visits a place, nothing remains the same. When the Holy Spirit came upon Saul, the persecutor, he was changed into Paul, the apostle.
Beloved, the Holy Spirit sanctifies vessels for the Father’s highest purposes, and you need Him to become a chosen vessel unto honour.
Prayer Point
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me and use me for Your glory.
HYMN 23: Take My Life And Let It Be
1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

TOPIC: Learn On Me
MEMORISE: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites those who are burdened to come to Him so that they can find rest.
However, He said that when they come, they should take up His yoke and learn of Him.
It is possible for God to give you rest and bless you so much that you will say, “Lord, this is too much.”
However, you must submit completely to Him and learn of Him.
Joshua 1:8 says that when the book of the law does not depart from your mouth, you will have good success.
Study your Bible diligently so that you can truly learn God’s ways. Once you know His ways and follow Him, you will begin to bear fruits in every area of your life.
In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the Bible says that if you hearken diligently to God’s word and observe to do all He commands, blessings will pursue and overtake you.
Become addicted to God’s word such that when you face any situation, the first thing that will come to your mind is, “What does the Bible say about this kind of situation?” God’s word shows us His will concerning every situation, and this should be the basis of our decisions.
Jesus said that when you come to learn of Him, you must note that He is meek and lowly.
Those who will learn of the Master must also have meek and lowly hearts; they must be teachable.
Pride makes people puffed up and become full of unnecessary weights and burdens.
To learn God’s ways and enjoy good success, you must be willing to overlook many things and obey His instructions even when they seem foolish.
God’s ways are different from the ways of man (Isaiah 55:8-9).
When God asked Moses to stretch his rod over the Red Sea as the Egyptian army closed in on the Israelites, it looked like a foolish move, but Moses obeyed because he was a meek man (Exodus 14:16, Numbers 12:3).
You cannot be set in your ways and expect God to lead you into good success. In Psalm 32:8, God promises to lead and guide His people, but in the next verse, He warns them not to be like the horse or the mule that must be led with ropes before they can obey.
Beloved, God cannot lead you into good success if you are like a horse that is so fast and doesn’t wait for instructions or a mule that is so stubborn that it won’t move until it is beaten.
Key Point
God wants to give you good success, but you must first submit to Him, learn of Him, and obey Him always.

MEMORISE: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalm 1:1
READ: 2 Chronicles 20:35-37 (KJV)
35 And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:
36 And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongaber.
37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the Lord hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 8-9
Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
Where you sow will determine what you will reap. In the parable of the sower, four soils were identified, but only one brought forth harvests; the other three soils yielded nothing (Mark 4:3-8). I pray for you today; you will not sow on barren soils, in Jesus’ name.
A barren soil can be a person, an organisation, or even a house. Some people move into a new house, and everything that was working for them suddenly stops working. Some get into a new relationship or start a new business partnership, and everything they have built over the years crumbles.
Jehoshaphat is an example of a fellow who entered into partnerships with people who were barren soils. Even though he was a righteous man, he entered into relationships with ungodly people. First, he became friends with Ahab, a sinful and wicked king, and almost lost his life in battle, but for God’s intervention (1 Kings 22:1-33). Then, as we read in today’s Bible reading, he joined himself with Ahab’s son, Ahaziah, another wicked king, and together, they made ships to go to Tarshish. The ships were destroyed, and the planned voyage failed because Jehoshaphat was partnering with someone who was a barren soil.
Who you partner with in life and destiny matters a lot. If you partner with a wicked man, your efforts will be wasted because God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). I pray for you; may you never partner with someone who is marked for destruction by heaven. May your efforts not be destroyed because of the partnerships you make, in Jesus name.
A disobedient fellow is another dangerous person to partner with. When you partner with such a person, you are sowing on concrete ground because disobedience shuts the heavens over a person. Jonah is an example of such a fellow; he put the people on the ship he boarded to Tarshish in trouble because of his disobedience. Although they didn’t lose their lives, they lost their properties because of one disobedient passenger (Jonah 1:1-5). When you join yourself to a disobedient person, you will suffer losses. In the name above every other name, I pray that you will be disconnected from every disobedient person who will make you suffer for what you know nothing about.
Prayer Point
Father, please help me not to associate with unfruitful partners.
HYMN 28: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
1 Guide me, O my great Redeemer,
pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but you are mighty;
hold me with your powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
feed me now and evermore,
feed me now and evermore.
2 Open now the crystal fountain,
where the healing waters flow.
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
ever be my strength and shield,
ever be my strength and shield.
3 When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside.
Death of death, and hell’s Destruction,
land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever sing to you,
I will ever sing to you.

MEMORISE: And the Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless the work of thine hand: and thou shall lend unto many nations, and thou shall not borrow. Deuteronomy 28:12
READ: Matthew 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
There is a difference between working under open heavens and working under closed heavens. Today’s memory verse says that when the heavens are opened over you, they will give the rain in due season; you will get a harvest from your work, and as a result, you will begin to lend to nations. When the heavens are closed, according to Deuteronomy 28:23-24, the rain that falls will be like powder, and your efforts will be useless.
The way to experience open heavens, as seen in Deuteronomy 28:1-2, is to hearken diligently unto the word of the Lord and to observe and do all that He commands.
One of His commands is in Malachi 3:10:
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
When the heavens are opened over a person. everything he or she touches will begin to prosper. When you live a holy life and do the will of God, the heavens will open over you.
When Peter allowed Jesus to use his boat and then obeyed His instruction to let down his nets for a catch, his obedience led to an overflowing miracle. However, because Peter had operated under closed heavens for so long, he let down only one net. Even with that, he caught a great multitude of fishes (Luke 5:1-7); imagine what would have happened if he had let down many nets as Jesus instructed.
In the name that is above every other name, l pray that you will hear God’s voice concerning your next level and obey His instructions.
Prayer is another thing that causes a believer to walk under open heavens. When Jesus went to River Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist, He did what other people didn’t do when they were being baptized: He prayed.
Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, Luke 3:21
While others entered the water and came out under closed heavens, Jesus prayed as He went into the water and came out under an open heaven. Spending time in fervent prayers will give you results that others do not have because the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man has great power and produces wonderful results (James 5:16).
Prayer Point
Father, I pray for the grace to pray fervently and obey you diligently so that I can live under open heavens, in Jesus’ name
HYMN 26: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessings
1 There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.
Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2 There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3 There shall be showers of blessing:
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honour Thy Word.
4 There shall be showers of blessing,
Oh, that to-day they might fall,
Now, as to God, we’re confessing.
Now as on Jesus we call!
