TOPIC: Becoming A Wonder 1

MEMORISE: l am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. Psalm 71:7

READ: Acts 3:1-11 (KJV)

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 14-16

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, after God healed the lame man, everyone looked on in amazement because they had just witnessed something wonderful. Another wonder happened in Acts 5:14-16 as Peter’s shadow healed the sick.

Likewise, in Acts 19:11-12, God performed special miracles through Paul such that his handkerchiefs and aprons healed the sick. Who turned them into such a wonder? The simple answer is the Holy Spirit.

When I was a lecturer at the University of Lagos, the dean of my faculty was Late Professor Chike Obi, a renowned mathematician. God later called me into full-time ministry and I resigned from the university system. After some years, Professor Obi, who was now retired, travelled all the way from his hometown to Redemption City to pay me a visit. I wasn’t at home, but he met my wife, and he told her that he would return. The next time he came, he saw me and said, “I just wanted to be sure that it is the same Adeboye that I knew who is now making waves all over the world.” I replied, “I am the same person, but the Adeboye you knew is a mathematician; the one before you now is a carrier of the Holy Spirit, and He makes a difference.”

In Psalm 71, David praised God for all He had done for him, and in verse 7, which is our memory verse, he testified that he had become a wonder. People who encounter the Holy Spirit become wonders to their world.

Just as He turned the disciples, countless fathers in the faith, and even me into a wonder, He can do the same for you.

Before I joined RCCG, I experienced a lot of hardship despite all my degrees and qualifications. However, when I surrendered my life to Jesus and the Holy Spirit came upon me, I began to experience the supernatural wonders of God’s kingdom. Difficult things became easy, and the seemingly impossible became possible.

One of my daughters was told by doctors that she would never give birth because her womb was too small to nurture a child to the point of delivery. She kept having miscarriages, but the Holy Spirit stepped in and decided to make her a wonder unto many. She got pregnant again, carried the pregnancy to the point of delivery, and when she delivered, she gave birth to quadruplets. I prophesy that you will have a life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit that will transform you into a wonder, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point

Holy Spirit, please fill me afresh and make me a wonder unto many, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 8: I Need Thee Every Hour

1. I need Thee every hour,

Most gracious Lord;

No tender voice like Thine

Can peace afford.

I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;

Every hour I need Thee;

Oh, bless me now, my Savior!

I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour,

Stay Thou near by;

Temptations lose their power

When Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour,

In joy or pain;

Come quickly and abide,

Or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour,

Teach me Thy will;

And Thy rich promises

In me fulfill.

5. I need Thee every hour,

Most Holy One;

Oh, make me Thine indeed,

Thou blessed Son.

TOPIC: Becoming A Terror To The Devil

MEMORISE: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Isaiah 61:1

READ: Judges 16:1-3 (KJV)

1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.

2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.

3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 11-13

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Why did a whole army choose to wait until morning to attack just one man as we read in today’s Bible text? I believe it was because they were afraid of Samson, and they knew they would need light in case he turned on them and they had to run. Who can make you a terror to the forces of darkness and use you to force open the gates of a city for the light of the gospel to flood in? The answer is the Holy Spirit.

I recall when we first started to hold crusades across Nigeria in our hunger to do God’s work.

We would call all the ministers together at our chosen location, feed them, and explain that we wanted to hold a crusade in their city. They would come, eat our food, promise their full cooperation, and on the day of the crusade, they would all fix programmes in their churches so there would be nobody to attend our crusade. After some time, out of frustration, I told God, “Father, I want to do your work, but I’m spending and being spent without getting results.” God replied, “The fault is yours; you’re trying to do my work without the Holy Spirit.”

When secret cults were beginning to take over Nigerian universities, the Holy Spirit ministered to me to take the Holy Ghost Service to the universities. I started with the University of Ibadan, and when we told them we were hosting a Holy Ghost Service, all the students, lecturers, and the Vice-Chancellor came out.

To make matters interesting, as I took the microphone that day, the rain began. Although we were in the open, no one left, not even the Vice-Chancellor! When we asked those who wanted to forsake their secret societies to come forward, because the Holy Spirit was there, thousands of people came out.

Beloved, above all you do, cultivate an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, and He will not only empower you but will also transform your life. For example, before I became born again, I lived in fear and could not visit my village because I was afraid of the forces of darkness there. Nowadays, however, I announce my visits ahead because I have been empowered by my intimacy with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will make you a terror to the kingdom of darkness as He did with the early disciples (Acts 17:6) if you surrender your life to Jesus Christ and build an intimate relationship with Him.

Key Point

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to destroy the works of the devil.

HYMN 12: Onward Christian Soldiers

1 Onward, Christian soldiers,

marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus

going on before!

Christ, the royal Master,

leads against the foe;

Forward into battle,

see his banner go!

Refrain:

Onward, Christian soldiers,

marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus

going on before!

2 At the sign of triumph

Satan’s host doth flee;

On, then, Christian soldiers,

on to victory!

Hell’s foundations quiver

at the shout of praise;

Brothers, lift your voices,

loud your anthems raise!

3 Like a mighty army

moves the church of God;

Brothers, we are treading

where the saints have trod;

We are not divided;

all one body we,

One in hope and doctrine,

one in charity.

4 Onward, then, ye people,

join our happy throng,

Blend with ours your voices

in the triumph song;

Glory, laud, and honor,

unto Christ the King;

This thro’ countless ages

men and angels sing.

5 Onward, then, ye people!

Join our happy throng;

Blend with ours your voices

In the triumph song.

Glory, laud and honor

Unto Christ, the King;

This through countless ages

Men and angels sing.

TOPIC: The Veil Is Torn

MEMORISE: And the sun was darkened. and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. Luke 23:45

READ: Mark 15:25-39 (KJV)

25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, The King Of The Jews.

27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 6-8

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil that separated us from God was torn. Matthew 27:5 says that when He died, the veil separating the Holy of Holies from everybody except the High Priest was torn from top to bottom.

God Himself took the curtain separating us from Him and tore it.

Ephesians 2:12-16 says that the wall between us and God was broken by the blood of Jesus.

His sacrifice meant that we could now come in contact with God; His death opened up a new era for humanity.

Now, everyone has full access to God through Jesus Christ. It is because of Jesus that I can call God “Daddy” It is because of Him that everyone anywhere, regardless of their skin colour or social status, can experience God’s presence.

Jesus died so you can have an intimate relationship with the Father. Is your relationship with God distant or intimate? Jesus died because He wants you to relate with the Father personally. To what extent have you opened your heart to God?

The torn veil signifies the destruction of everything that can keep us from enjoying God’s fullness.

Are you sick in your body? Are you in the bondage of addictions? Are you tormented by demons? Jesus tore the veil so that you can access health, deliverance, peace, and freedom.

You don’t have to continue struggling through life when you can enjoy all that Jesus death has made available to you.

I pray that everything hindering you from enjoying good health and peace will be torn like that veil in Jesus name.

The torn veil also signifies a new beginning. It means that the old has been taken away.

You can now enjoy the newness and fullness of life. While the veil remained in the temple, people lived under the old covenant, but as soon as it was torn, mankind was ushered into a new covenant

Hebrews 12:24 says that Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant, and his blood speaks to us.

As we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, may his blood speak better things into your life, and may you experience new beginnings in every area of your life where you need newness, in Jesus name.

Lastly, the veil represents Jesus’ body (Hebrews 10:19-20). His flesh was torn so that yours can be whole. I pray that from now on, you will experience wholeness in every area of your life, in Jesus’ name.

Happy Easter

Action Point

Spend some time thanking Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross and for taking away the veil.

HYMN 10: In Christ Alone

1 In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My Comforter, my All in All

Here in the love of Christ I stand

2 In Christ alone, who took on flesh

Fullness of God in helpless babe

This gift of love and righteousness

Scorned by the ones He came to save

‘Til on that cross as Jesus died

The wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid

Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

3 There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious Day

Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory

Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me

For I am His and He is mine

Bought with the precious blood of Christ

4 No guilt in life, no fear in death

This is the power of Christ in me

From life’s first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Can ever pluck me from His hand

Till He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

MEMORISE: And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23

READ: John 4:1-39 (KJV)

1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

4 And he must needs go through Samaria.

5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 4-5

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Several years ago, we used to advertise and print fliers to announce upcoming services.

If we did not have enough money for fliers, we would just use our mouths.

Occasionally, we would get nails, empty bottles, and empty cans and beat them together as we sang and danced through the streets, telling people about an upcoming service.

Sometimes, we would write the information for an upcoming service on blackboards and place them at different crossroads.

If we saw an abandoned lorry covered with dust, we would write on the lorry, informing passers-by of upcoming services.

Today, God has given us more efficient and effective ways of communicating the gospel to people, and Luke 12:48 says that to whom much is given, much is expected.

I often say this: use every method you have to bring all your friends, relatives, and even enemies to Christ.

I always say, “Phone them, text them, email them,” then I add jokingly, “iPhone them, iPad them, Facebook them, YouTube them, blog them, tweet them, uplink them, and even download them.”

When you see something on the internet that you want to save to your computer, you download it, so when I say ‘download them,’ I mean, you know where they are, and you know where you want them to be; simply save them into the body of Christ.

Beloved, let God know that you will use everything He has given you to advertise Him: your smartphone, professional network, social media influence, etc.

If you truly use all that you have for Him, He will trust you with more. Therefore, go all out to make sure you download everybody you can into the body of Christ.

If you don’t know what to say to them, just invite them to services where you know that the Holy Ghost can arrest them. Use every means possible to bring people to Jesus.

In today’s Bible reading, the Samaritan woman brought her townspeople to Jesus. She didn’t use big grammar to try to convince them; she just told them, “Come and see a man who told me all the things that ever did.

Is this not the Christ?” She used her testimony to draw her people to Christ.

You can also use testimonies of what God has done for you to bring people to Christ.

Whenever God does anything for you, use the testimony as a tool to bring people to Him.

Let your life be a billboard that points people to God always.

Action Point

Plant a seed of kindness in somebody’s life today.

HYMN 20: Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus

1 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!

Ye soldiers of the cross;

Lift high His royal banner,

It must not suffer loss:

From vict’ry unto vict’ry

His army shall He lead,

Till every foe is vanquished

And Christ is Lord indeed.

2 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!

The trumpet call obey;

Forth to the mighty conflict

In this His glorious day.

Ye that are men, now serve Him

Against unnumbered foes;

Let courage rise with danger.

And strength to strength oppose.

3 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!

Stand in His strength alone;

The arm of flesh will fail you;

Ye dare not trust your own.

Put on the Gospel armor,

And, watching unto prayer,

Where duty calls, or danger,

Be never wanting there.

4 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!

The strife will not be long:

This day the noise of battle,

The next the victor’s song;

To him that overcometh

A crown of life shall be;

He, with the King of glory,

Shall reign eternally.

TOPIC: Are You A True Witness?

MEMORISE: And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. Acts 5:32

READ: Acts 1:6-8 (KJV)

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 1-3

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In Acts 1:8, Jesus said that you will receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you, and you will become a witness. A witness produces proof. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you become someone who can produce proof that Jesus is the Saviour, the Healer, and the Deliverer because He will reveal these divine attributes through you.

Your lifestyle must reflect that Jesus is in you because He said that people will be known by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). Being a witness means showing what it means to be a genuine child of God. All parties involved in a court case are expected to invite witnesses who would make statements in their favour. The testimonies of the witnesses are expected to strengthen the argument of the parties that invited them. Your lifestyle as a witness of Christ should strengthen the faith of others, not weaken it. Your life should draw unbelievers to Jesus, not push them away from Him. Your primary task as the Lord’s witness is to follow Him sincerely and use everything He gives you to lead others to Him. Don’t be the reason people vow never to follow Jesus because, as a witness, your life has told lies about God’s nature and personality. Whenever your words and conduct speak lies about Jesus, you become a false witness.

While false witnesses tell lies about what they have seen, another set of people, whom Paul called false brethren, claim to have seen things they have not. They act as witnesses when they haven’t seen anything.

Paul spoke about the dangers he faced at the hands of false brethren (2 Corinthians 11:26).

Some of them came into the Galatian church and wanted to enslave the true believers there (Galatians 2:4); they came with high-sounding opinions that were contrary to God’s will. You must beware of false brethren because they carry a contrary spirit. They twist the message of Christ and turn the grace of God into a license for immorality (Jude 1:4). Such fellows say that once you have received Jesus, you can live anyhow because the grace of God covers you. They also feign godliness for their personal gain. Paul warned that we should withdraw from such people (1 Timothy 6:5).

Beloved, as Christ’s witness, you must be careful that your life doesn’t speak lies about Jesus, and you must also take care not to fall into the trap of those who profess to be witnesses of Christ but have never met Him.

Reflection

Are you a true witness of Christ?
