MEMORISE: And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: Matthew 12:25

READ: Psalm 133:1-3(KJV)

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Several scriptures clearly tell us that God hates disunity, and He loves it when His children are united. He said in John 13:35 that it is by showing love to one another that people will recognize us as His disciples. God is so particular about unity that He said that if you come to Him with an offering and remember that your brother has something against you, you must go and reconcile with him before returning to give your offering (Matthew 5:23-24).

God wants His children to be united because He knows that there is little we can achieve individually. He knows that the moment we begin to operate as separate entities, it will be easy for the devil to gain entry into our territories, and we will not be able to do much to stop him. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says:

And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

There are many Christians and Christian organizations around the world. In fact, Christianity is considered to be the most popular religion in the world. Why, then, are the governments of some nations establishing anti-Christian policies and persecuting Christians? The major reason is that many of us Christians are living in isolation. If we come together and decree a thing, it will surely come to pass. If we can come together and decide to turn the whole world around for Christ, we will be unstoppable.

When you look at all the times that there have been revivals in the past, one major thing you will discover is that a significant part of the body of Christ was united. At the upper room, when the disciples were all in one accord, the Holy Ghost came down, and three thousand souls were saved on that day. The Bible further says in Acts 2:46-47 that the disciples were united and more and more people were added to the church daily.

Look within your local assembly; is there unity among you? Look at the environment where your church is located; is your local assembly working in unity with the other churches in the community? If we can only put aside our differences and come together to form a united front against the devil, we will discover that nothing will be impossible to us.

Action Point

Pray for the unity of all the churches in your community and the body of Christ as a whole.

HYMN 24: I Want To Be Like Jesus

1 Earthly pleasures vainly call me;

I would be like Jesus;

Nothing worldly shall enthrall me,

I would be like Jesus.

Refrain:

Be like Jesus - this my song,

In the home and in the throng;

Be like Jesus, all day long,

I would be like Jesus.

2 He has broken every fetter,

I would be like Jesus;

That my soul may serve Him better,

I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]

3 All the way from earth to glory,

I would be like Jesus;

Telling o’er and o’er the story,

I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]

4 That in heaven He may meet me,

I would be like Jesus;

That His words “Well done” may greet me,

I would be like Jesus. [Refrain]

MEMORISE: When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Psalm 126:1

READ: Psalm 126:1-3 (KJV)

1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 24-25

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Today’s memory verse says that when God turned the captivity of Zion, it was like a dream. When God gives you some testimonies, you might pinch yourself from time to time to be sure that you are awake and not dreaming.

In Psalm 23:5, David said,

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:…”

That testimony was good enough, but then he went ahead to say,

“.. thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

I am sure that some of the people around him asked,

“What kind of testimony is this? Brother, are you sure you are not exaggerating?”

I’ll share one of such testimonies with you.

While I was a lecturer at the University of ilorin, my wife and I had this teapot from which we could pour five cups of tea. Whenever we wanted to eat breakfast, my wife and I would fill the pot. After we have both had two cups of tea, the first person to finish the second cup of tea would usually go for the last cup.

On one occasion. the teapot was full as usual, and after we had both had two cups of tea, we discovered that the pot was empty as we looked at each other with a confused look on our faces, the Lord said to me,

“When you were praying, you said, ‘Lord, bless this food, join us as we eat.’ I thought you invited me.”

I was thrilled to learn that the Lord Jesus joined us for breakfast. However, when I shared this testimony, the brethren looked at me like I had gone crazy because I said that Jesus drank tea. It became an embarrassment, such that l had to cry to God to show me a similar incident from the Scriptures. Then, He showed me that in John 21, after Jesus had risen from the dead, He appeared to the disciples, and they joined Him at the shore and ate fish and bread with Him. The Lord said that after He rose from the dead, He could eat fish and bread, and if they had tea, He could have drank it with them also.

Beloved, God is able to do exceeding abundantly above your wildest imagination (Ephesians 3:20). I pray for you today that He will give you a testimony that people will find difficult to believe when you share it, in Jesus’ name

Prayer Point

Father, please bring me into the realm of unbelievable testimonies, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 26: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

1 There shall be showers of blessing:

This is the promise of love;

There shall be seasons refreshing,

Sent from the Saviour above.

Refrain:

Showers of blessing,

Showers of blessing we need;

Mercy drops round us are falling,

But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,

Precious reviving again;

Over the hills and the valleys,

Sound of abundance of rain.

3 There shall be showers of blessing:

Send them upon us, O Lord!

Grant to us now a refreshing;

Come, and now honour Thy Word.

4 There shall be showers of blessing,

Oh, that to-day they might fall,

Now, as to God, we’re confessing.

Now as on Jesus we call!

MEMORISE: The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. Habakkuk 3:19

READ: 1 Kings 18:41-46 (KJ)

41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.

45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 19-21

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Humans are normally subject to the laws of nature. For example, this is why it is ordinarily impossible for people to walk on water due to the law of gravity.

At times, however, the laws of nature can be suspended so that they do not act as a barrier to God’s children.

Matthew 14:22-32 tells us that Peter walked on water. When he began to sink, he cried out, and Jesus grabbed his hand.

After that, they both walked back to the boat on the water. The law of gravity was suspended for Peter.

When God gets involved in a situation, the laws of nature can be suspended.

In Acts 12:5-11, when the angel came to release Peter from prison, the chains that were used to bind him dropped off by themselves, and the prison doors opened of their own accord.

I pray that if there are doors that have been locked against you, they will open of their own accord because of the Holy Spirit, and you will reach heights that your enemies do not want you to get to, in Jesus’ name.

If you continue reading that account in Acts 12, you will discover that when Herod sent for Peter to be brought out for execution, the guards reported that they could not find him, and Herod commanded that they should be executed instead. God is above to spring a surprise on your enemies, in Jesus' name.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, He will make you mount up with wings like an eagle to rise above all barriers in your path. He will remove every embargo that the devil may have placed on you and every limitation that he may have put on your family and business. He will also make your feet like a hind’s feet and set you upon your high places (Psalm 18:33). A hind is a female deer, and she can run securely in very rough terrains. Nothing limits or hinders her from running on very dangerous grounds. Where other animals will stumble and fall, a hind will run freely without any stress. I pray for you right now; the Holy Spirit will lift you above every limitation in your life, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point

Holy Spirit, please come upon me afresh and break every barrier around me, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 5: Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine!

1  Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;

Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus:

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

2 Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angels descending, bring from above

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3 Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest;

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

TOPIC: Becoming A Wonder 1

MEMORISE: l am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. Psalm 71:7

READ: Acts 3:1-11 (KJV)

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 14-16

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, after God healed the lame man, everyone looked on in amazement because they had just witnessed something wonderful. Another wonder happened in Acts 5:14-16 as Peter’s shadow healed the sick.

Likewise, in Acts 19:11-12, God performed special miracles through Paul such that his handkerchiefs and aprons healed the sick. Who turned them into such a wonder? The simple answer is the Holy Spirit.

When I was a lecturer at the University of Lagos, the dean of my faculty was Late Professor Chike Obi, a renowned mathematician. God later called me into full-time ministry and I resigned from the university system. After some years, Professor Obi, who was now retired, travelled all the way from his hometown to Redemption City to pay me a visit. I wasn’t at home, but he met my wife, and he told her that he would return. The next time he came, he saw me and said, “I just wanted to be sure that it is the same Adeboye that I knew who is now making waves all over the world.” I replied, “I am the same person, but the Adeboye you knew is a mathematician; the one before you now is a carrier of the Holy Spirit, and He makes a difference.”

In Psalm 71, David praised God for all He had done for him, and in verse 7, which is our memory verse, he testified that he had become a wonder. People who encounter the Holy Spirit become wonders to their world.

Just as He turned the disciples, countless fathers in the faith, and even me into a wonder, He can do the same for you.

Before I joined RCCG, I experienced a lot of hardship despite all my degrees and qualifications. However, when I surrendered my life to Jesus and the Holy Spirit came upon me, I began to experience the supernatural wonders of God’s kingdom. Difficult things became easy, and the seemingly impossible became possible.

One of my daughters was told by doctors that she would never give birth because her womb was too small to nurture a child to the point of delivery. She kept having miscarriages, but the Holy Spirit stepped in and decided to make her a wonder unto many. She got pregnant again, carried the pregnancy to the point of delivery, and when she delivered, she gave birth to quadruplets. I prophesy that you will have a life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit that will transform you into a wonder, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point

Holy Spirit, please fill me afresh and make me a wonder unto many, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 8: I Need Thee Every Hour

1. I need Thee every hour,

Most gracious Lord;

No tender voice like Thine

Can peace afford.

I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;

Every hour I need Thee;

Oh, bless me now, my Savior!

I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour,

Stay Thou near by;

Temptations lose their power

When Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour,

In joy or pain;

Come quickly and abide,

Or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour,

Teach me Thy will;

And Thy rich promises

In me fulfill.

5. I need Thee every hour,

Most Holy One;

Oh, make me Thine indeed,

Thou blessed Son.

TOPIC: Becoming A Terror To The Devil

MEMORISE: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Isaiah 61:1

READ: Judges 16:1-3 (KJV)

1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.

2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.

3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 11-13

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Why did a whole army choose to wait until morning to attack just one man as we read in today’s Bible text? I believe it was because they were afraid of Samson, and they knew they would need light in case he turned on them and they had to run. Who can make you a terror to the forces of darkness and use you to force open the gates of a city for the light of the gospel to flood in? The answer is the Holy Spirit.

I recall when we first started to hold crusades across Nigeria in our hunger to do God’s work.

We would call all the ministers together at our chosen location, feed them, and explain that we wanted to hold a crusade in their city. They would come, eat our food, promise their full cooperation, and on the day of the crusade, they would all fix programmes in their churches so there would be nobody to attend our crusade. After some time, out of frustration, I told God, “Father, I want to do your work, but I’m spending and being spent without getting results.” God replied, “The fault is yours; you’re trying to do my work without the Holy Spirit.”

When secret cults were beginning to take over Nigerian universities, the Holy Spirit ministered to me to take the Holy Ghost Service to the universities. I started with the University of Ibadan, and when we told them we were hosting a Holy Ghost Service, all the students, lecturers, and the Vice-Chancellor came out.

To make matters interesting, as I took the microphone that day, the rain began. Although we were in the open, no one left, not even the Vice-Chancellor! When we asked those who wanted to forsake their secret societies to come forward, because the Holy Spirit was there, thousands of people came out.

Beloved, above all you do, cultivate an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, and He will not only empower you but will also transform your life. For example, before I became born again, I lived in fear and could not visit my village because I was afraid of the forces of darkness there. Nowadays, however, I announce my visits ahead because I have been empowered by my intimacy with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will make you a terror to the kingdom of darkness as He did with the early disciples (Acts 17:6) if you surrender your life to Jesus Christ and build an intimate relationship with Him.

Key Point

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to destroy the works of the devil.

HYMN 12: Onward Christian Soldiers

1 Onward, Christian soldiers,

marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus

going on before!

Christ, the royal Master,

leads against the foe;

Forward into battle,

see his banner go!

Refrain:

Onward, Christian soldiers,

marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus

going on before!

2 At the sign of triumph

Satan’s host doth flee;

On, then, Christian soldiers,

on to victory!

Hell’s foundations quiver

at the shout of praise;

Brothers, lift your voices,

loud your anthems raise!

3 Like a mighty army

moves the church of God;

Brothers, we are treading

where the saints have trod;

We are not divided;

all one body we,

One in hope and doctrine,

one in charity.

4 Onward, then, ye people,

join our happy throng,

Blend with ours your voices

in the triumph song;

Glory, laud, and honor,

unto Christ the King;

This thro’ countless ages

men and angels sing.

5 Onward, then, ye people!

Join our happy throng;

Blend with ours your voices

In the triumph song.

Glory, laud and honor

Unto Christ, the King;

This through countless ages

Men and angels sing.
