Memorise:

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
— Hebrews 10:38 (KJV)

Read: Mark 11:20-24 (KJV)

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

RCCG Open Heavens 29 October 2026 Today Message by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Having faith in God means trusting in Him, even in seemingly hopeless situations. When believers truly understand who God is, they will diligently seek Him and put all their faith in Him. In turn, God will never let them down. Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Faith in God comes from truly knowing Him. Daniel 11:32 says that those who know their God will be strong and do exploits. Beloved, how well do you know God? Do you trust Him enough to do exactly what He tells you to do, whether it makes sense or not? In 1 Kings 18:21, Elijah told the people, "If the Lord is God, serve Him. If Baal is God, serve him." If you are trusting God for a miracle, then you must believe that He is the Almighty God who can do even more than what you have asked of Him (Ephesians 3:20).

The Bible says that the just shall live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17). James 1:6-7 also says that you should not even expect to receive anything from God if you go to Him with doubts.

When I became General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the church kept growing to the point that our headquarters in Ebute Metta became too small for us. I got some of the church elders together, and we fasted and prayed for days. At the end of the prayers, God spoke: "Now that you've cried to Me for a campground, I will show you where it is." Then, He showed us a jungle, which was the headquarters of highway robbers and all manner of dangerous animals. I thought to myself, "How can God choose this place of all places?" However, I went ahead with what He said because I have faith in Him. Today, that jungle has become a city.

When God says that all is well, you can be sure that all will be well. In Matthew 9:27-30, Jesus asked two blind men who were looking up at Him for a miracle if they believed He could heal them, and they replied, "Yes." Jesus responded, "Be it unto you according to your faith," and they were healed.

Beloved, put your faith in God, and He will give you miracles that are far beyond your expectations.

Prayer Point:
Father, please help me to trust You completely, even when situations seem impossible, in Jesus' name.

Bible in One Year:
Luke 19-20

Hymn: What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Verse 1:
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.

Verse 2:
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Verse 3:
Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield thee;
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Open Heaven Devotional 29 October 2026 Commentary

Theme: The Burden Bearer calls you to have faith in God. Faith is not a blind leap—it is a confident response to knowing who God is. When you know Him, you trust Him, obey Him, and receive beyond what you ask.

Major Keywords: Have faith in God, faith that moves mountains, knowing God, obeying without understanding, RCCG campground testimony.

Commentary Summary:

  • Faith Comes from Knowing God: Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please God. Daniel 11:32 says those who know their God will do exploits. Faith is not produced by trying harder—it is produced by knowing Him more.

  • Faith Does Not Entertain Doubt: James 1:6-7 says a double-minded person should not expect to receive anything. Pray with confidence, not hesitation. Faith-filled prayer is settled.

  • Faith Obeys Even When It Doesn't Make Sense: God showed Daddy a jungle—the headquarters of robbers—for the RCCG campground. It didn't make sense, but he obeyed. Today that jungle is a city. Your reasoning may protest, but obedience produces the miracle.

  • Faith Receives Beyond What You Ask: Ephesians 3:20 says God can do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask. Faith does not limit God to what you can imagine.

Reference to Theme: This message, HAVE FAITH IN GOD, calls you to trust Him completely—in hopeless situations, in confusing instructions, and in impossible odds. Faith pleases God, and He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Action Steps:

  1. Invest in Knowing God: Faith grows from relationship. Spend more time in His Word and in His presence. The more you know Him, the more you trust Him.

  2. Pray Without Doubting: Examine your prayers. When you ask, believe that you have received. Don't limit God with your doubt.

  3. Obey the Instruction That Doesn't Make Sense: Whatever God has told you to do—even if it seems illogical—do it. Your obedience is the doorway to your miracle.
