MEMORISE: Flee also youthful lust; 2 Timothy 2:22a
BIBLE TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:21-22
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Thessalonians 1-5
MESSAGE:
Fornication is a sexual sin which destroys lives and destinies. Unfortunately, it is one of the sins that appeal more to teenagers because it is enjoyable.
However, it has many dangers. One of them is that it ignites a fire that leads to self-destruction immediately after it is committed.
This fire burns and does not get quenched until it finally destroys the fornicator. Job 31:12 says:
“For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction and would root out all mine increase.”
This Scripture further explains that fornication can destroy the blessing gotten over the years.
When you have sexual relations with someone, there is an exchange of spirits, which also means that there is an exchange of curses and problems.
My dear child, fornication destroys the soul.
Confess your sins and stop them now that you still have the chance.
Don’t destroy your beautiful future with a few minutes of ecstasy, and if you are already deep in premarital sex, ask for counselling and prayers today. May God give you victory over the flesh in Jesus’ name.
KEY POINT
Don’t be like Esau, who sold his birthright for a plate of porridge.
HYMN 3 – All To Jesus I Surrender
All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
CHORUS
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee,
my blessed saviour
I surrender all
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!

MEMORISE: A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. Proverbs 29:11
BIBLE TEXT: Joshua 2:1-11
1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.
3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.
4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.
6 But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
7 And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.
8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
9 And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Colossians 1-4
MESSAGE:
In today’s Bible passage, Joshua sent some spies to Jericho, and they came in contact with Rahab, who sold her village out to the spies.
Also, in 2 Kings 6:13-14, the king of Syria sent some spies to obtain information on his enemy – Elisha, and they brought back reports.
Thus, the success of spies depends on the information they are privy to.
It’s unfortunate that some children who have glorious destinies have destroyed them by divulging sensitive and important information about themselves to the wrong persons.
I understand that as teenagers, sometimes, you might want to boast about your future, parents, possessions, and gifts, but you should understand that the Bible says in Proverbs 18:7,
“A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul”.
Don’t be too quick to tell or post things about yourself online, Ask yourself,
“Of what importance is this personal information to the public?”
The Bible also says:
“Whoso keepeth his mouth and tongue keepeth his soul from troubles”
(Proverbs 21:23). If you want to escape from some troubles, learn to control your mouth, heart and fingers.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please let my mouth and hands always work for me and not against me in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 5 – Take My Life And Let It Be
Take my life and let it
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moment and my days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee
Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king;
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.
Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.
Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee

MEMORISE: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 39:7-9
7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8 But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Philippians 1-4
MESSAGE:
We live in a world where some preachers teach that God is not wicked and will not punish His children when they do wrong because we are in the time of grace, thus, encouraging young Christians to misbehave.
My child, truly. God is love, but He is also a Consuming Fire. This is the reason Apostle Paul asked the question,
”Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?”
The obvious answer is NO.
In the passage for today, Potiphar’s wife wanted Joseph to sleep with her, but he refused.
No one would have known if he had done it, but God would have taken a record of it.
Joseph could have also said that he would do it and later ask God for forgiveness like some Christians do, but he fled instead because he feared God.
My child, sin can rob you of your relationship with God and the great future ahead of you. If Joseph had slept with Potiphar’s wife, he might have been made a big man in Egypt, but his destiny would have been cut short like that of Reuben, his elder brother (Genesis 49).
KEY POINT:
The fear of God will keep you from committing sin when no one is watching.
BIBLE QUIZ:
What is the fifth commandment?
a) Thou shall not steal
b) Honour thy father and thy mother
c) Thou shall not serve any other God except me
d) Thou shall not make thyself a graven image
HYMN 11 – O Lord My God! When Am In Awesome Wonder,
O lord my God!
When am in awesome wonder,
consider all
The worlds thy hands hath made
I see the stars,
I heard the rolling thunder
Thy pow’r thro’ out
The universe displayed
And when I think
That God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die
I scare can take it in;
That on the cross,
My burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died
To take away my sin.
Then through the woods
And forest glads I wander,
And hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the tress;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze;
When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
My God how great Thou art!
