RCCG Open Heavens 6 November 2026 Daily Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye – PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Topic: PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
PASTOR E.A ADEBOYEMemorise:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
— James 1:17 (KJV)
Read: Colossians 3:15-17 (KJV)
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Word and Spirit. Thank You for surrounding me with Your angels and giving me everything that pertains to life and godliness.

Bible in One Year:
John 11-12
Hymn: Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven
Verse 1:
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
To His feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Evermore His praises sing:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King.
Verse 2:
Praise Him for His grace and favour
To His people in distress;
Praise Him still the same as ever,
Slow to chide, and swift to bless:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Glorious in His faithfulness.
Verse 3:
Father-like He tends and spares us;
Well our feeble frame He knows;
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Widely yet His mercy flows.
Verse 4:
Angels, help us to adore Him;
Ye behold Him face to face;
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace.

Thanksgiving Covers Every Area of Life: These prayers cover life, provision, protection, family, future, God's Word and Spirit, forgiveness, victory over sin, the work of your hands, answered prayers, and the local church. There is no area where thanksgiving is not due.
Thanksgiving is a Command, Not an Option: Colossians 3:15 says "be ye thankful." Verse 17 says whatever you do, do it in the name of Jesus, giving thanks to God. Gratitude is the believer's lifestyle.
Key Truth: A grateful heart keeps you in the flow of God's blessings. When you thank God for what He has done, you position yourself for what He is about to do. Thanksgiving unlocks more.
